Kenco Triples Warehouse Automation Testing Capacity With Expanded Innovation Lab

Kenco has opened a 30,000-square-foot Innovation Lab in Chattanooga, Tennessee, marking a significant expansion of its automation testing capabilities. The facility, unveiled September 10, triples the footprint of the company's original testing space established in 2015. The larger venue enables the third-party logistics provider to evaluate more complex warehouse systems simultaneously while replicating real-world distribution center conditions. Ainsley Williams, vice president of automation and innovation, said the expansion creates a convergence point for equipment manufacturers and customers. Manufacturers can test products, and customers can evaluate solutions without capital investment. The original 10,000-square-foot lab was created roughly a decade ago to assess emerging automation technologies. As industry demands evolved, Kenco's testing needs outgrew the space. The company operates 140 North American locations with more than 7,500 employees, including approximately 800 at its Chattanooga headquarters.
