Fast-fashion retailers and logistics carriers are expanding fulfillment infrastructure to handle growing e-commerce demand. Shein opened a 737,000-square-foot automated distribution center in Indiana, deploying goods-to-person technology to streamline order processing and improve workplace safety. The facility represents the company's latest move to strengthen domestic logistics capabilities. Separately, less-than-truckload carrier Averitt added a 100,000-square-foot distribution and fulfillment hub in Jackson, Mississippi, as part of a broader network expansion strategy. Both projects underscore industry-wide investment in automation and facility capacity. The infrastructure additions aim to reduce fulfillment times and operational costs as retailers compete for faster delivery windows in an increasingly crowded market.
