Mammoth Freighters has handed over its second converted Boeing 777-200LRMF to lessor Jetran for operation by DHL Air UK. The Fort Worth-based conversion specialist delivered the aircraft, which has been registered in the UK as G-DHME. Both aircraft have begun revenue service with DHL Air UK, the company confirmed on 2 November. Jetran's first Mammoth-converted 777-200LRMF entered service in August and was displayed at the Farnborough Airshow in July. Jetran has ordered more than two dozen 777-200LRMF freighters, with 13 designated for DHL's global network. DHL plans to deploy four converted aircraft into service this year. Modifications include installation of a main-deck cargo door and advanced cargo handling systems, while retaining original airframes and engines. The FAA granted Supplemental Type Certification in April, enabling deliveries to launch customer Qatar Airways Cargo.
