Miami cargo hub resumes normal operations after fatal 21 Air freighter accident

Miami International Airport restored normal cargo operations within 24 hours of a fatal Amazon freighter crash that claimed five lives. A 21 Air Boeing 767-300F operating from San Juan overran runway 30 on landing, struck vehicles after crossing the airport perimeter, and ignited in flames. Five people were killed and five injured, including three in critical condition. The accident triggered a three-hour ground stop that resulted in 160 cancelled flights and 325 delays. By the following morning, freighters resumed normal arrival and departure patterns with minimal disruption to 21 Air's operations.
