MiKargo247 is broadening its spot cargo insurance offerings through a new partnership with Verified Carrier. The partnership removes strategic theft exclusions for vetted carriers, targeting double brokering, carrier identity theft and fraudulent pickups. These schemes accounted for roughly 30% of reported U.S. cargo theft incidents in 2025. Criminal networks increasingly rely on deception and impersonation to divert freight rather than physical theft, complicating carrier verification for brokers and underwriters. The FBI cautioned in April that cyber-enabled strategic theft is rising, with bad actors exploiting compromised accounts and fictitious entities. Under the arrangement, brokers using Verified Carrier can purchase MiKargo247 coverage with the strategic theft exclusion removed when loads move with eligible verified carriers. MiKargo247 launched in 2022 offering on-demand, single-trip coverage up to $1 million per load and has expanded through partnerships with freight technology platforms including Loadlink Technologies and Trucker Path.
