Shipium Shifts Freight Audit From Monthly Reviews to Real-Time Monitoring

Seattle-based shipping platform Shipium has launched Always On Audit, a continuous monitoring system that tracks shipments in real time rather than reconciling invoices weeks after delivery. The approach marks a fundamental shift in how shippers manage freight financial records, according to CEO Jason Murray, who founded the company in 2019. Murray said the platform now closes the loop between shipping operations and financial records. The new system tracks every shipment from creation through delivery, updating a single record at each stage—from rating and carrier selection to label printing. This architecture required significant data engineering investment and an AI layer trained to match billing codes across different carriers. Previously, freight auditing relied on batch monthly reviews of invoices. The continuous model instead ties financial reconciliation directly to shipment data as it moves through the supply chain, eliminating delays in identifying discrepancies.
