AIT Worldwide Logistics has acquired Australian freight forwarder Connor Anderson International, strengthening the Chicago-based freight forwarder's presence in the Oceania region. The acquisition capitalizes on surging data center development in the region. Connor Anderson operates air, ocean and road transportation services along with customs clearance and project cargo capabilities across Sydney and Melbourne. The company serves primarily technology sector clients throughout Australia and New Zealand. The two companies have partnered for 15 years. AIT Worldwide can now better serve high-tech customers seeking expanded regional capabilities and position itself to capture aerospace and automotive sector opportunities. The acquisition allows AIT to transport sophisticated computing equipment and infrastructure components required by major technology companies. Ray Fennelly, AIT's chief development officer, said the integration will support customer scaling efforts across the broader Oceania market. AIT ranks as the 43rd largest logistics provider globally and 22nd in the United States. The carrier operates 158 offices worldwide.
