California Warehouse Raid Nets $10M in Counterfeit Athletic Apparel

Los Angeles County authorities seized approximately 25,900 counterfeit items valued at $10 million from a warehouse in Arcadia's 11600 block of Goldring Road in late August. The haul included merchandise bearing Nike, Adidas and other protected trademarks. The investigation began after port inspectors identified suspicious cargo in early August destined for the commercial property. Deputies and federal agents executed a search following warrant authorization and recovered the counterfeit streetwear inventory. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team led the operation with federal counterparts. The unit focuses on manufacturing, sales and distribution of unauthorized goods throughout the county. In the past year alone, the team conducted approximately 25 searches countywide, recovering roughly 200,000 counterfeit items with an estimated combined retail value between $15 million and $25 million.
