Ceva Logistics faces class action over employee data theft in European cyberattack

A former employee has sued Ceva Logistics, alleging the third-party logistics provider failed to adequately safeguard worker personal information during a late July cyberattack that disrupted eight European warehouses. Kevin Krupa filed the class action in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, claiming hackers stole employee bank account details and social security numbers. The complaint states Ceva neglected cybersecurity training and maintained inadequate security protocols despite a similar breach one year prior. Krupa reported fraudulent credit card activity and increased scam calls following the intrusion. Ceva has not formally notified affected employees, the suit alleges. The filing seeks class action status for at least 100 harmed workers, potentially extending to thousands. The suit demands at least $5 million in compensation and damages for negligence, breach of implied contract, and unjust enrichment. Ceva operates more than 1,000 warehouses globally.
