Costco is expanding its delivery capabilities by enlisting DoorDash and Uber to fulfill online orders from warehouse locations across North America.

The warehouse retailer this week activated a DoorDash marketplace integration allowing members to order groceries, household essentials and dry goods through the app with fast delivery from nearby Costco locations. The collaboration extends an existing arrangement in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.

Uber announced a parallel expansion Wednesday, growing its Costco delivery footprint to 47 states from 17 states previously. Nearly 600 Costco locations are now accessible via Uber Eats, which offers both on-demand and scheduled delivery options. Costco merchandise is also available through Uber Eats in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France and Spain.

The dual partnership strategy allows Costco to compete with Walmart and Target's e-commerce offerings while avoiding capital investments in proprietary delivery infrastructure.
