Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its dedicated freighter operations across India, adding weekly services to Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad alongside existing routes to Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The carrier now operates seven weekly freighter flights to India paired with 167 weekly passenger services.
The expansion reflects strong demand for air cargo capacity serving India's export sector, which moves approximately 2 million tonnes of international freight annually. During fiscal year 2025/26, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 153,000 tonnes of Indian exports, primarily pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics and automotive components.
Trade between India and the UAE has accelerated following a 2022 trade agreement, with non-oil commerce growing 15% annually. Emirates SkyCargo moved 28,000 tonnes of Indian exports to the UAE in FY25/26, up 24% year-over-year. A road feeder network supplemented gateway operations, handling 4,500 tonnes of cargo over 12 months for regional shippers.
