FedEx Express has finished upgrading its second airside facility at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The modernization adds 1,550 square meters of operational warehouse space and 913 square meters for technical and administrative offices, bringing the carrier's total airside footprint in Madrid to more than 4,500 square meters. The new facility features four dedicated trailer docks and a castor deck roller platform capable of handling up to 14 ULDs. Secure storage accommodates 5,700 pieces. Equipment includes automated sorting systems, dimensioning and weighing technology, and X-ray screening. A Temporary Bonded Warehouse and authorized customs area streamline international procedures. The expansion consolidates express and economy flows to the Canary Islands while increasing EU Economy consolidation capacity for Latin America and U.S. shipments. The facility also handles International Priority Freight with direct ramp connectivity, providing surge capacity for seasonal volume peaks.
