Menzies Aviation has secured a contract to provide cargo, ramp and passenger services for Singapore Airlines at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport beginning November 23. The handler will support SIA's scheduled passenger flights and ad hoc freighter operations from the airport's launch. Menzies operates a newly constructed 12,500 square-meter cargo facility at WSI capable of processing 200,000 tonnes annually, the largest cargo warehouse in Oceania and Southeast Asia. The facility handles pharmaceuticals, perishables, e-commerce and heavy freight shipments. The operation leverages Menzies' cargo management platform for real-time tracking and shipment visibility. The appointment extends an existing partnership between the two companies across Australian airports including Sydney and Melbourne. Menzies has also held ground handling contracts with SIA in Brisbane and Cairns since earlier this year.
