Harbinger closed a $240 million Series D funding round to accelerate manufacturing of its electric medium-duty trucks while diversifying into energy storage, power generation, autonomy, and defense applications. Tiger Global, Capricorn's Technology Impact Fund, and Ridgeline led the round for the Garden Grove, California-based company. The capital influx supports production ramp-up for a 2,000-truck order from FedEx valued at over $300 million, with delivery scheduled by end of 2027. Harbinger manufactures Class 4-6 chassis in all-electric and plug-in hybrid configurations, designing proprietary powertrains, battery systems, steering, and brakes. The company's HC Series Cab offers up to 500 miles of range and 15 kilowatts of exportable power. Recent ventures include acquiring autonomy software maker Phantom AI and securing a defense contract to build an uncrewed Army supply vehicle. The Series D follows a $160 million Series C in November, bringing total funding since 2021 to over $650 million.
