Jade Pacific Line, a Singapore-incorporated carrier established in April, has launched a new shuttle service connecting India and the Red Sea. The company was founded by former SeaLead Shipping executives following SeaLead's liquidation earlier this year. Doreen Yeo, former SeaLead chief commercial officer, serves as JPL's chief executive. JPL is operating the 1,118 teu Medkon Sia on a Mundra-Nhava Sheva-Karachi-Sokhna rotation, with the vessel making its inaugural call at JNPA on October 4. Short-haul Asia-Middle East trades remain an attractive entry point for new shipping entrepreneurs establishing operations in an increasingly volatile and competitive market environment.
