Four major carriers have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand air cargo cooperation across the Japan-Europe corridor. Lufthansa Cargo, All Nippon Airways, SWISS WorldCargo and Nippon Cargo Airlines will evaluate joint opportunities including enhanced network connectivity, additional routing options and expanded capacity.

The partnership resurrects a previous joint venture between Lufthansa Cargo and ANA established in 2014, which was suspended in September 2023 following internal restructuring at ANA Holdings' cargo division. The expanded four-carrier alliance aims to leverage combined brand strength and regional expertise to serve customers with greater service flexibility.

Both Japan and Europe represent priority markets for the carriers, particularly for time-sensitive and specialized cargo shipments requiring reliable handling and rapid transit.
