Tesla Targets Late 2027 for European Semi Deliveries, Demos to Start Mid-2027

Tesla will launch European demonstrations of its Semi truck in the first half of 2027, with customer deliveries targeted for year-end, Dan Priestley, head of Semi at Tesla, said at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover. The company is currently securing interested customers for the demonstration phase. Initial European trucks will be manufactured at Tesla's Nevada facility near Reno. The European Semi features 550 kilometers of usable range at 40 metric tons gross combination weight and consumes 1 kilowatt-hour per kilometer. The truck accepts 800-kilowatt charging, recovering more than 60% range in 30 minutes. The vehicle runs three axles with two driven units. It uses identical hardware to the North American standard-range model, with differences limited to European homologation requirements including lighting, tachograph integration, and trailer specifications.
