Trailer Bridge appointed Charles Gittens as chief executive officer effective Nov. 2, marking a leadership transition at the Jacksonville-based ocean transportation carrier. Gittens replaces Mitch Luciano and arrives with over 30 years of experience in transportation and logistics, including extensive Caribbean shipping expertise. Most recently, he served as president of trade at King Ocean Services. Previously, he held the position of president and chief commercial officer at Seacor Island Lines, where he achieved 115% revenue growth while expanding service offerings and improving operational performance. Board Chairman Eric Fabrikant cited Gittens' proven commercial and operational leadership as critical to the company's long-term trajectory. The appointment follows Trailer Bridge's recent fleet modernization efforts. These include $9 million in roll-on/roll-off barge upgrades, enhanced monitoring technology deployment, and new terminal and tugboat partnerships. The carrier, founded in 1991, continues investing in its Puerto Rico operations.
