Two independent freight platforms are merging operations to create a unified network while maintaining separate customer interfaces. 123Loadboard and Direct Freight will integrate backend systems, allowing brokers to post loads across both networks through a single workflow and carriers to access a combined freight pool.
The integration addresses what 123Loadboard calls the "capacity gap"—freight that remains uncovered after brokers exhaust primary carrier relationships, traditional management systems, and existing load boards. According to the company's leadership, this gap represents disproportionately important shipments, since customers require full coverage rather than partial solutions.
123Loadboard positions itself as a supplementary layer atop brokers' existing tools rather than a replacement platform. The strategy acknowledges that brokers rely on multiple systems and carrier networks for operational continuity.
