Shaw Industries has streamlined its EcoWorx carpet tile recovery program by routing returns through regional distribution centers. These hubs already handle outbound shipments, eliminating the need for full truckloads to justify cost-effective collection. The flooring manufacturer reduced its minimum pickup requirement to 100 square yards in November 2023, down from 500 square yards, as commercial spaces have contracted and mixed flooring types have become more common. Smaller customer returns consolidate at distribution hubs before shipping to Shaw's Georgia recycling facility. The EcoWorx product line, introduced in 1999, carries contact information on its backing to alert demolition teams to takeback options. The company also proactively identifies installed locations through operational data and contacts customers approaching renovation cycles. Pickup services remain free to customers. Shaw's network makes 2,700 daily deliveries and reaches 99% of the U.S. market, positioning the infrastructure to capture material seven to 10 years after initial installation.
