Danish freight intermediary Scan Global Logistics is acquiring Portland, Oregon-based OIA Global in what the company describes as its most significant investment to date. The transaction will elevate Scan into the top 20 global freight forwarders. Founded in 1988, OIA Global generated $780 million in revenue last year and employs more than 1,200 people across more than 60 offices in over 30 countries. The company offers freight forwarding, customs brokerage, contract logistics, project logistics, prime contractor management, packaging design, materials management and supply chain solutions. Scan said the acquisition strengthens its U.S. footprint and expands service capabilities beyond traditional freight forwarding. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Scan, currently ranked the 19th largest freight forwarder globally, operates more than 200 offices worldwide with over 5,100 employees.
